Blow Molding
What Is Blow Molding?
Blow molding is a widely used plastic manufacturing process for producing hollow parts such as bottles, containers, automotive ducts, and industrial tanks. Compressed air inflates a heated plastic preform or parison inside a closed mold, forming the desired shape. The three main types — Extrusion Blow Molding (EBM), Injection Blow Molding (IBM), and Injection Stretch Blow Molding (ISBM) — each serve different materials and product requirements.
PET stretch blow molding is among the most demanding, as it requires precise material conditioning, temperature control, and cycle time optimization to produce clear, lightweight bottles at high throughput.
Flying Tiger KJ has extensive experience supporting PET preform and stretch blow molding operations across Asia. Our solutions are purpose-built to reduce cycle times, protect material quality, and lower energy costs.
The Inverter Water and Air Cooling Chillers provide stable, energy-efficient chilled water to mold cooling circuits. By using variable-frequency drive (VFD) controlled compressors that adjust output to actual load, energy savings of up to 50% are achievable compared to conventional fixed-speed systems — a significant ROI driver in high-volume bottle plants.
For PET resin preparation — the most critical drying application in blow molding — Flying Tiger KJ’s proprietary Vacuum Dehumidifying Dryer delivers a clear competitive advantage. Operating at a vacuum degree below 1 Torr, it reduces water evaporation temperature to below room temperature, cutting drying time from the conventional 4–6 hours down to just 1–2 hours while saving more than 30% in energy consumption. This speed advantage is especially valuable in high-volume PET bottle production where dryer turnaround directly impacts machine utilization. For very large-scale or continuous PET processing, our patented Infrared Rotary Dryer combines crystallization and drying in a single continuous operation, delivering exceptional throughput efficiency and IV value preservation. The Three-In-One Dehumidifying Dryer offers a proven alternative for facilities requiring flexible batch drying across multiple resin types.
The Loss-In-Weight Master Batch Doser ensures accurate colorant proportioning at each blow molding machine, eliminating color variation across batches. A Central Material Conveying System automates pellet supply from storage to dryers to machines, reducing manual handling and enabling real-time inventory visibility through Industry 4.0 connectivity.
